Céad Míle Fàilte!

(A Hundred Thousand Welcomes!)

The Lexington Celtic Association began in 2002 by a group of friends who sought to celebrate their shared Irish, Scottish, and Welsh heritage. Liza Hendley, a native of Dublin and owner of Fàilte Irish Imports in Lexington took the initiative and organized a gathering in McCarthy's Irish Pub downtown. On that first meeting, the Lexington Celtic Association was born.

Everyone who has an appreciation for celtic music, culture, and lore, regardless of personal ancestry, is warmly encouraged to join our organization. Should you venture out to one of our meetings, you might encounter bagpipers, fiddlers, singers, dancers. Naturally, all Celtic people are poets and storytellers at heart. They come from in and outside of Lexington -- from the U.S, Ireland and the U.K. Be prepared for a grand time!

No group in the area unites such an ecclectic bunch as the Lexington Celtic Association. Please explore our website and learn why you ought to take part and celebrate the magic of Celtic culture. Cheers!

The Irish say...

May your glass be ever full,
May the roof over your head be always strong.
And may you be in heaven,
Half an hour before the devil knows you're dead.
